Description

4 bolt rear damper (they are not called Shock Absorber's, that's the spring's job, the Dampers damp the suspension ) upgrade kit for DB2s, this was a Works DB2 & Service Department modification to upgrade overworked DB2 single valve DAS 10 Armstrong dampers to DAS 12 HD double valve Armstrong rear dampers as fitted as STD to the DB2/4 of 1953 (so our kit is actually just an update or upgrade)

Essential if using DB2 for fast road, rallying or any other form of competition or even just for use in very bumpy roads.

Positioning of the backet is fairly easy, we send you a jig to use for a short time as in the photo or just do it with a measurement from the bumpstop.

Our own DB2 had 22 dampers fitted in its first 2 years of its life.

Included in the kit:

2 shaped plates for welding to the chassis below the original damper mounting, this is easily carried out by just gently bending the inner wheel arch - no need to take the body off.

2 axle damper link brackets to convert to the later DB2/4 MkI style, these bolt to the alloy axle brackets with the 6 bolts provided.

2 damper arm to axle links, called link assemblies in Aston Feltham parts books.

Extra to basic kit:

2 new rear damper arms if you (the customer) are converting from a damper off a DBS 6, DBS V8 or early AM V8, these are machined from solid EN 24 T with wire eroded splines.

We can sometimes sell you 2 complete reconditioned rear dampers from a DBS 6, DBS V8, or an early AM V8 that has been converted to Koni Rear dampers, our replacement arm converts the damper to a DB2 to MkIII spec.

We also supply HBE presurised rear dampers,

within a few months into 2015 we will supply our own branded high quality rear dampers.
