Description

Steering boxes for DB2 to MkIII fully overhauled to 'better than new', please note - they are exchange only or your own rebuilt. (see conditions of exchange at bottom of page)

Available in standard or power assisted types, these are supplied to us by a UK specialist company.

Even the non assisted version gives much improved steering with up to 30% lighter than std, with absolutely minimal play especially when used with our roller bearing Steering Idler & our track rod ends,

This steering box has been completely re-engineered, the steering box is stripped & all the housing faces machined to the correct dimensions,  a new column tube & 'rocker arm' bushes are then fitted, then a new column shaft is fitted with a re-designed 'worm' on the column shaft which has been designed for taper roller bearings, the 'rocker arm' is remanufactured with new bearings on the worm roller. The box is then carefully assembled to precise tolerances, almost elimating play.

However all this costs quite a lot of money (it can take several days to do a box if you are rebuilding it yourself) but you are rewarded with a Feltham Aston Martin with steering that is lighter, more responsive & makes the car a delight to drive.

We have fitted about 15 or 16 of these boxes & every owner has said it was the single thing that makes the car superb to drive.

Note that LHD boxes are not available yet.

Please Note The last few steering boxes when stripped have had core components worn or damaged beyond repair so we now require that all steering boxes are sent to us so they can be stripped, examined & assessed as being suitable for reconditioning before release of the reconditioned steering box, if the reconditioned box is released before an assessment is made a £1500 deposit will be be charged & if the steering box is unserviceable the deposit will not be refunded.
