Oil filter elements for DB2 to DBS 6,

Correct assembly procedure for element type oil filter here

Notes

Oil filters for DB2 to DB4 with the correct seal are becoming increasingly harder to find, the ones that are universal to the DB5 & many other cars of the period have the wrong filter bowl sealing ring, they all used to have 3 filter rings 'when I were a lad'.

We supply the correct Major brand top quality (not Far Eastern copy as found on ebay)  oil filter with the correct top & bottom rubber seal bonded on the metal ends of the filter (not card or thick paper as with some filters) & with the correct filter bowl sealing ring for a DB2 to DB4 filter bowl (thicker than DB5 type) for this application, the filters are all checked when we purchase them.

We also supply the correct DB5 to DBS 6 oil filters with the correct thinner (than a DB2 to DB4) filter bowl seal.

These are not cheap Chinese made rubbish but from 2 major UK supplier's of filters.

Just in passing - be very careful of any oil filter conversion to spin off, because of this we now make our own conversion for DB2 or DB4 types & DB5 types, inc conversion to Full Flow units.

The 2 main types of adaptor we have seen cannot flow as much oil as the original unmodified head.

The filter supplied often cannot cope with the oil quantity needed to pass through for a DB4 / 5 / 6 / S6 engine so the filter bypass valve located in the AML filter head & in the Spin On filter itself, stays open longer until the oil is warm unless the filter is very large, so unfiltered oil hits your bearings.

The Spin On filters we have seen used are also not really capable of the increased pressure that a NP 6 Cylinder runs at, often well over 140 psi on a cold morning & often running at over 100 psi normal running, again the bypass valve opens & lets unfiltered oil through to your bearings, you need a specially strengthened filter to cope with these pressures.
