A new Timing Case or Cover for DB2 to MkII VB series 2.6 & 3 ltr engines, fully machined 04/02/22 as the photo, this has several revised features that we have introduced into our rebuilt engines for at least the last 10 years and some which are new, they are as follows:

1.- fitting the crankshaft front pulley oil seal from the front of the timing case instead of from the rear as original (you had to take the timing cover off to fit the oil seal),

2.- making the casting slightly differently just in front of the cam sprockets to allow all 6 cam bolts to be removed when the engine is set on TDC so that the head can be removed.

3.- the water pump cover studs in the centre are now blind holes so that the oil doesn't leak through the cover out to the outside of the engine.

4.- minor reshaping of radius on the long stabiliser leg to main body of timing cover as cracks 1st appear here on hard used engines.

5.- a plug thread can be machined if wanted & a plug provided adjacent the end of the oil pump jackshaft to allow measurement of the oil pump jackshaft endfloat, this is just inside of the short stabiliser leg.

6.- this timing cover has enough material on the inside of the cover just above the crankshaft oil seal & below the water pump cover to enable machining it for a TV damper kit which we can supply.

The 1st 3 castings have been made & one was machined in mid April 2013 to prove them for a machining point of view although by a third party, this has been fitted to a race customer engine that was rebuilt, its proved OK for usage throughout the years & we are now offering the next batch of 5 for sale, there are only 4 left now Feb 2022

This cover can easily be fitted to an very early DB2 with a 104 link top timing chain with some small modifications though we suggest that you have a new upper timing chain tensioner & make it a later 84 link top timing chain, with which the engine is less noisy & thrashy.

We have made these covers as we were dangerously low on S/H stocks of covers as every time one of these cars has an accident the timing cover legs get damaged.

We can nearly supply a brand new engine without exchange with only the use of the rear Timing Cover, the Oil Filler, Cam Covers & sump from your original engine, however these parts will be made shortly.

Please note that the colour of the casting will be the as the vapour blasted area on the left just below the dynamo stud lugs of the 1st picture

The 3 large round cones on the inside are runners when casting 

Please note gaskets, seals (except the water pump gland seal), dowels, bushes, studs, mountings or bolts etc are not supplied but are in stock ready to go out with this part, it's just the bare cover with some instructions, no numbers are stamped on the cover. £1500 +taves
