I really appreciate you and Paul coming up to Sheffield at less than an hours notice yesterday, to fix the electrics on my Aston.  I know that a lot of the work on the car has not been as straightforward as originally seemed and again I acknowledge your devotion and dedication to the task of making this the best DB2 on the road.
There were some limited choices in selecting someone to work with in 'sorting' the outstanding problems at the outset when deciding to buy NUV 944 and I now know that I chose the right partners in you and Jean and the Four Ashes Garage organisation!  Thank you again for your outstanding service.

John Jackson - had his DB2 fully mechanically rebuilt in the 1st 4 months of 2013

Hi Chris and Jean,  just a quick note to say thanks for all your help with our project. We ran the engine on the dyno last week, all went well, took a bit of bedding in ,those liners felt quite hard when i de-burred so I guess that was why. It made 169 bhp and 188 lbs ft on         1 ¾ carbs and re- curved dizzy  ,  smooth quiet and dry all good !  thanks again, best regards , Piff       (JD CLASSICS) by email 02/05/13, pistons, liners, connecting rods, alloy head, bearings sold to them for MkI DHC

Photos attached. The fan cowl fits superbly - very little adjustment required and that due to my measurements rather than your fabrication. The finish is superb as well and looks totally in keeping with the rest of the engine compartment.

Hi Jean and Chris,
thought you might be interested to learn that we took a trip to France in the Aston in late September and included a couple of days at Angouleme (Circuit des Ramparts), the car ran faultlessly for 1600 miles and used maybe a pint of oil and used no water all, credit to the engine rebuild Chris.

Hi Chris and Jean
I have just returned home after picking up my DB2/4 from you and I have to pass on my thanks for the work you have carried out to the suspension and brakes plus tuning of the engine.
The car has been transformed!! The road holding and ride are totally different and hugely improved. The brakes are a delight. I no longer have to sit some way behind the vehicle in front to allow for poor braking performance and the engine is more responsive and without that intermittent misfire. Even the bodywork seems less creaky and happier with the ride!!
As you know this has been my first visit to your workshop - but it won't be the last!

Dear Chris and Jean,
I was delighted with the Spa weekend which was really most enjoyable all round. The car went extremely well, particularly in the hands of Peter who I think will be doing rather more driving in the future. He is keen to do Le Mans next year and I am currently filling in the application form for the event. I think I will also probably do the Woodcoate Trophy (Donald’s misspelling not mine- CMA)

Many thanks to you and Terry for doing such a terrific paint job on the Morgan
Plus 4. When I decided to give you the work I did so in the expectation that you would achieve a first class finish and this has definitely proved to be the case. I was particularly impressed by Terry's attention to detail and the way he reassembled everything meticulously. The car probably has a better paint finish now than when it left the factory in 1965.
I was also pleased that the job came in on budget.

Dear Chris & Jean
As the events of the Spa Six Hour weekend are still sinking in, the reality of the monumental achievement we have has become quite clear, 5th in class and 27th overall is far beyond my wildest expectations from the car on its maiden race outing as a completed car.
Taking account of the fact that we were the oldest car in the event by a considerable margin and we beat several Healey 3000’s and an Aston Martin DB4 who we were in the same class has made the result feel like an outright race win!!
I would ask you to pass on my sincere thanks to all of the team up at Four Ashes who were involved with the build and preparation of 8 EMU and in particular to both of you who have allowed my dream to dominate both of your lives over the past nine months, for that you have my eternal gratitude.
The car has far outweighed my wildest dreams in both its appearance and capability and I would say that without question we have the finest DB2 race car in the world.
The car has given me a racing experience that is the most satisfying I have ever encountered in my time as a circuit racer, indeed I am still grinning from ear to ear two days after the race.
I am now eagerly awaiting the next outing of the car in order to reward you all with the success’s that I believe the car can deliver and further cement the reputation of Four Ashes as the finest builder and preparer of Aston Martin DB2’s.
One again thank you to everyone who has been involved in the project and also to all of the members of the EMU Racing Team who supported the car in Spa.

September 27th 2005 – commenting on the race debut of the complete car at Spa 2005
In the following weeks Autosport September 29th 2005 written by Marcus Pye
‘Andrew Sharp gave his newly-prepared Aston Martin DB2 its debut at Spa last weekend, and brought it home 27th overall in the Six Hour Race.
Sharp, who normally drives a Porsche 928 in HSCC 70s Road Sports, enlisted clubmates Mark Hoble and Mark Oldfield to drive the 50’s car, which humbled many machines its junior.
Running a 2.9 litre works spec competition engine, the Aston has been built by Chris Adams Four Ashes Garage team, the DB2 specialist, which is continuing the work of the late Jack Moss.’

This note is to thank you both  most sincerely for your time & interest given to me last Thursday when we discussed my Aston engine problem.
I really am most grateful to you both & came away feeling confident that if anybody could ‘crack this one’ you were the Team to do it,  In  the meantime I will await ‘date for action’ & I have my friendly car delivery driver now standing by.

Tom May     6th June 2004 – commenting on his proposed 90-90-90 World Record Attempt, Millbrook 26.05.05 in his DB2 CSV 451, unfortunately Tom never lived long enough to carry this Record attempt, he died later that month.
